I loved my week in the escuela Runawasi.

I loved my week in the escuela Runawasi. The teachers were wonderful and great and fun teachers. The directors of the school--Janine and Joaquin-are so nice and helpful.
The classes were great--it's divided up into conversation and more formal grammar lessons so it's not only educational but also fun. I took the intensive private lessons and while it was a lot of school, they also make it fun with outings to see different things if you like.
The directors work hard to make the school a comfortable place to be--Janine especially is super helpful answering all sorts of questions regarding Bolivia, how to get around, staying safe in the cities and how to manage your next stop in the country. I couldn't have had the amazing experience I had in bolivia without her. Before I got there, she answered all my emails in a very timely manner and once I was there she was more than helpful in calling and emailing various agencies to make sure they were available to include me in their tours. She checked in with me often to make sure I was ok while traveling about in the country.
Also they arranged the homestay while I was at the school. I stayed with an excellent family--very warm and welcoming. The "mom", Amalia, cooked delicious vegetarian food--always a lot of it! And Cancio, and the two kids were really nice and fun as well. They have a few super adorable and playful dogs. I missed my dog at home so it was lovely to have these substitute dogs to play with.
I stayed in a little casita in back of the main house. This was perfect as I could retire there after school and have some much needed down time. (learning a language is exhausting!) I wish I could have stayed longer at the school and with the family. I was so sad to leave. I plan to return when I can. I cannot say enough good things about la escuela runawasi and my family I stayed with.
