Runawasi feels like a home away from home
por:  Alana Deloge

Runawasi feels like a home away from home for me, and I cannot express how much my experiences at Runawasi have positively impacted my life. Since 2002, I have attended the school and lived in Juan XXIII three times in order to study Quechua. In large part because of my time at Runawasi, Quechua has transformed from an interest to a main focus of my academic and professional work. The school itself has been excellent - the quality of language instruction is very high and the professors and directors have always provided the best resources, depending on my goals and needs. But beyond the instruction, the sense of community at Runawasi is what I value most. Although I have lived with various families in Juan XXIII, I keep in touch with all of them and enjoy visiting upon each return. I have developed friendships with students, professors, and families living near the school that are now everlasting. This sense of community is also developed with what I have learned at the school. Much of the education and activities are connected with the cultural and historical context of the neighborhood, Cochabamba, and Bolivia. The directors and professors have also helped me to develop my own interests in Cochabamba outside of the language classes, connecting me with various organizations and opportunities. The support is incredible and I am forever grateful for everyone at Runawasi! I look forward to my next stay, which I already have planned. Tukuy sunquywan, anchata agradeceykichis! (With all my heart, I thank you!)
